The Sentinel Six and the Five-Man Band
For reference, see "Five-Man Band" at TV Tropes.
1. The Leader — Fuchsia
Public face · Field commander
Fuchsia naturally occupies the center of the team. Her empathy-based abilities give her heightened situational awareness of both allies and civilians, making her the obvious choice to coordinate movement, prioritize rescues, and de-escalate chaos. She’s the one reporters quote, the one who speaks carefully, and the one who feels the weight of every decision afterward.
She doesn’t lead because she wants authority—she leads because she can’t ignore responsibility.
2. The Lancer — Indy
Second-in-command · Challenger · Pressure valve
Indy is Fuchsia’s counterbalance. Where Fuchsia is measured and empathetic, Indy is fast-thinking, kinetic, and more willing to push boundaries. Indy supports the Leader publicly but questions decisions privately—or loudly, if the situation demands it.
Sometimes Indy is the first one through the breach.
Sometimes the first one to say, “We’re playing this too safe.”
That friction makes the team sharper… even when it’s uncomfortable.
3. The Strong One — Cinderblock
Physical powerhouse · Emotional anchor
Cinderblock is the most visibly “super” member of the team: mass, strength, durability. When something has to be held, lifted, or stopped from getting worse, it’s Cinderblock’s job.
But his real strength is reliability. He doesn’t panic, doesn’t posture, and doesn’t abandon people. When the plan collapses, the team regroups around him—sometimes literally.
4. The Smart One — Knight Wing
Engineer · Tactician · Systems expert
Knight Wing’s mechanical wings aren’t just gear—they’re a thesis project, a maintenance nightmare, and a personal obsession. He handles fabrication, diagnostics, field repairs, and tactical overwatch.
He’s the one monitoring power levels, structural stress, and escape routes mid-fight. Without him, the Sentinel Six would burn out their tech, miss obvious vulnerabilities, and lose air superiority immediately.
5. The Conscience — Echo
Moral center · Emotional reality check
Echo is the one who remembers why they suit up. Whether through her powers, her personality, or her lived experience, she grounds the team in consequences—especially the human ones.
When shortcuts seem tempting or collateral damage gets
rationalized, Echo is the voice that says, “No. We don’t get to decide who
this hurts.”
She doesn’t command—but people listen.
6. The Rookie — Vault
Newest member · Untested integration
Vault may already be impressive on her own, but she’s the least integrated into the Sentinel Six as a unit. She’s still learning team protocols, trust rhythms, and when to hold back versus go all in.
That makes her unpredictable—in good ways and bad. She asks questions veterans stopped asking. She makes mistakes that force the team to re-examine assumptions. And someday, she won’t be the rookie anymore.
